Join renowned San Francisco-based couturière and artist Colleen Quen as she unveils her stunning Lunar New Year 2025 Snake Couture Creation, blending nature, spirituality, and vibrant colors. Through her unique paper-cut patterns and live Qigong watercolor painting performance, Quen invites everyone to connect, create, and transform together in a shared experience of cultural appreciation and artistic expression.
SCHEDULE:
5 PM – Quen discusses her design philosophy and creative journey over the past three decades.
6 PM – Watch as Quen brings her fashion designs to life with a live fashion drawing and demonstrates how her paper-cut patterns transform into wearable 3D art.
7 PM – Quen leads a hands-on workshop, teaching paper pattern folding and traditional Chinese watercolor painting. Join in to help paint sculptural paper creations and celebrate creativity as a community!

Inspired by nature’s motifs, couturière Colleen Quen’s designs are made of enchanting dreams. From a delicate flower blossoming to a butterfly’s quiet beauty, Quen channels her wonder and reverence for the natural world into art, transforming amorphous energy into pioneering shapes. From the celebrated Compassion dress to the Birds of Paradise gown, her innovative forms and thoughts meld harmoniously in a rhythmic balance. Quen has been featured in Flair, WWD, the International Herald Tribune, and Vogue France and as a Guest Designer and Judge on “America’s Next Top Model.” Her resonating artistry has led to a decade of costume commissions by the internationally famed Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet Company.

American Couture Designer Colleen Quen has been asked as a guest of honor to participate in the 2018 Cousu D'or-Magical Weaving exhibition for C-Couture Federation in Paris. Director Lisa Edwards-Rubin captures the personal process through film and photography.
The exhibition has also invited American Designer Colleen Quen, as a guest of honor participant during the exhibition.
